William J. Clinton Presidential Center Hosts Rib Rally on the River
Barbecue Contest Awards $10,000 in Cash and Prizes
The William J. Clinton Presidential Center is hosting the Rib Rally on the River on Sept. 19 and 20, in Little Rock, Ark.
The Rib Rally on the River is a back yard barbecue competition open to individuals and teams who believe their barbecue ribs, chicken or sauce are among the best-kept culinary secrets in the known universe.
More than $10,000 in prizes and cash will be awarded to the individuals and teams who prove their barbecue worthiness.
Deadline for entry is Sept. 8. Contestants may set up on Friday, Sept. 19, for judging on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The Rib Rally is not a Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned event, but will follow KCBS rules and regulations.
Cook teams consist of a chief cook and up to four assistants. Each team will provide a 20 x 20 cooking space equipped with barbecue pit/pits. Teams will be judged in two categories: ribs and chicken.
Entry fee of $100 covers following categories: Back Yard Rib and Chicken Competition as well as the optional People's Choice Chicken Wing Competition. For an extra $25, teams can enter the sauce pot competition.

The Rib Rally is part of the Clinton Presidential Center American Classics Festival. The Festival salutes American culture and all things Americana. Festival details will be announced on Aug. 14.
