Spotlight: Arkansas Energy Office

The primary funding source for the HEAL pilot project was provided by the Arkansas Energy Office, through Department of Energy Grant (DE-EE0000179) in the State Energy Program. As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the U.S. Department of Energy has provided the Arkansas Energy Office with funds for state energy efficiency and renewable energy programs developed and implemented under the State Energy Program (SEP).

The Arkansas Energy Office (AEO) a division of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, is responsible for overall program management and monitoring the Clinton Climate Initiative- AR (CCI) in implementation of the HEAL program. The HEAL Pilot, and its companion Revolving Loan Fund, is designed to decrease the long term utility cost burden of Arkansas based industry and to help achieve energy affordability for Arkansas employees. Participating employers from each of the four Arkansas Congressional Districts were invited to apply for participation.
